117-Snallygaster?

Play

The Snallygaster is a Maryland based cryptid whose description is so bizarre that is almost sounds like some kind of Lovecraftian horror. Half eagle, half reptile with razor sharp teeth so hard and dark they look like steel. It has wings to small for its body but yet it flies. It has one large eye in the middle of its forehead like some kind of reptile cyclops. it also has tentacles coming out of its mouth like it has a large octopus as a tongue. Beware the Snallygaster, especially if you are a drinker. We have heard it has a fondness for moonshine.

101-Bitters?

Play

We have recorded episodes about several alcohols and their mixers but have, until this moment, largely ignored a cocktail staple, bitters. Bitter herbs have been used medicinally for centuries but have had a bit of a roller coaster ride in the last 200 years. They became extremely popular during the 1800’s with the advent of cocktail parties, to virtually disappearing with America’s prohibition period. Although a few have stood steadfast in that time many new bitter making companies are popping up. Sometimes what you need is that old-timey flavor in today’s day and age. So don’t be bitter, just try some in your next cocktail.

098-Buried Alive?

PREMATURE BURIAL
To die is natural; but the living death
Of those who waken into consciousness,
Though for a moment only, ay, or less,
To find a coffin stifling their last breath,
Surpasses every horror underneath
The sun of Heaven, and should surely check
Haste in the living to remove the wreck
Of what was just before, the soul’s fair sheath,
How many have been smothered in their shroud!
How many have sustained this awful woe!
Humanity would shudder could we know
How many have cried to God in anguish loud,
Accusing those whose haste a wrong had wrought
Beyond the worst that ever devil thought.

Beware of the blob, it creeps
And leaps and glides and slides

Right through the door
And all around the wall
A splotch, a blotch
Be careful of the blob

You may have heard of the necronomicon; a book bound in human flesh with the pages written in human blood. Anything that you can think of that can be bound in leather, can be bound, and probably has been bound in human flesh
